Football Fanzines

This section is dedicated to the football fanzines who have so far shown support to our campaign in various ways. Football Fanzines are the true independent voice of the ordinary supporter and since the first took off in the 1980's, there has been a massive growth in the number of publications available. In the year 2000, a lot of fanzines are even glossy like the clubs official match programme but the fanzine content is miles better than the usual boring club programme.

In the 1980's the first fanzines were all home produced with glue and cellotape being part of the technological production process.' All you needed to do was photocopy your finished product, call for your clubs chairman to be hanged and you could sell it t supporters who were thirsty for a publication which told the truth and sometimes just took the piss.

From these humble beginnings, we now have a situation where some major clubs have up to 5 fanzines and every Premier and League club has at least one fanzine out. The non-league clubs also have some excellent fanzines and this section will enable you to see what's happening from the Dr. Martens League to the Premier as regards to the various fanzines on offer.

Liverpool's Fanzine - 'Through The Wind and Rain' – is featured here with archive material from 1989 to the present day.
