One of the actions of contrast.org is to give (or find) refuge to groups who find publishing in their own country impossible or are ignored in the media because of censure, government control, intimidation, mailbombs, blockades etc. We can mirror the site (elsewhere) and can offer mailboxes or public terminals. This doesn't mean that we necessarily support the views and goals of the groups we give refuge.

We support free speech and Internet is the perfect place for censored information to reappear. Everybody should have the opportunity to read about and discuss controversial issues. Unlike those who are afraid of open debate, contrast.org thinks that people can judge things for themselves.

Asylum:

    FARC-EP
Las Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia Ejercito del Pueblo (mirror)
    Interim
On June 12, 1997, more than 500 police in Berlin carried out a series of raids aimed at criminalizing the weekly autonomist publication 'Interim'. Several individuals were charged with various felonies including "rewarding or supporting illegal actions"
    Euskal Herria Journal (EHJ)
An electronic magazin published by the Congress of Peace in Euskal Herria (CPEH) an independent grassroots organization that promotes political negotiations and Basque self-determination. Their goal is to publish "information often ignored by the international media, and to build communication bridges for a better understanding of the conflict."
